Learning Pathway

Course structure:

The vehicle maintenance and repair industry value chain enters into system diagnostic, testing, and comprehensive rectification of vehicle performance which allows a mechanic profession to determine the root cause of a problem in the vehicle. The profession may be required to evaluate the next course of action, such as the type of repair that needs to be performed to solve the problem for all vehicle maintenance service which includes electric and hybrid vehicles, bodywork, wheel servicing, and infotainment.

This single tier program offer normal repair service and diagnose service for light vehicle, this enable apprentice to learn following competency skill upon completion of the course, such as:

Level 2-

1 Vehicle Workshop Housekeeping

2 Vehicle Engine Service

3 Vehicle Engine Overhauling

4 Vehicle Brake System Service

5 Engine Cooling System Replacement

6 Rear / Front Axle Rectification

7 Exhaust System Rectification

8 Vehicle Electrical & Electronic System Service

9 Vehicle Steering, Suspension and Wheel System Service

10 Vehicle Heated Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) System Rectification

11 Automatic Transmission / Transaxle Unit Overhauling

12 Manual Transmission / Transaxle Unit Overhauling

Level 3-

1 Automotive Workshop Supervision

2 Engine Management System (EMS) Diagnostic

3 Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) Replacement

4 Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Airbag Parts & Components Replacement

5 Vehicle Electrical & Electronic System Diagnostic

6 Turbocharger / Supercharger System Diagnostic

7 Vehicles Wheels, Steering and Suspension Diagnostic

8 Vehicle Heated Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Diagnostic

9 Automatic Transmission / Transaxle Diagnostic

10 Manual Transmission / Transaxle Diagnostic

Prerequisite:

Open to all fresh technician and service advisors staff who work at motor vehicle workshop and service center.

Job opportunities:

As an automotive technician, you will be responsible for fixing, inspecting and maintaining cars, trucks, SUVs and other vehicles for drivers. You will use tools to find any potential issues with someone’s vehicle, explain problems with the car to the driver and perform maintenance on the car to fix it or prevent it from future breakdowns or issues1. Being an auto mechanic can be helpful as you often assist others.
